Future Focus students put their creativity and teamwork to the test with our Careers Come to Life challenge! Each group selected a career and was given a 5-foot skeleton, newspaper, butcher paper, scissors, glue, and markers. Their mission? Transform their skeleton into a career professional using only the materials provided!

Along the way, students practiced collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving while exploring the world of careers. Who knew career exploration could be so... humerus?

Students took on The Paper Chase! Teams raced to find specific documents hidden inside a mountain of realistic school-paper clutter. After experiencing the chaos, they created an organization system and tried again. The result? Less searching, less stress, and more success! The challenge helped students discover an important lesson: being organized isn't just about being neat. It's about creating systems that help you stay focused, prepared, and ready for the future.

Future Focus students spent the day playing board and card games with their classmates, but the fun had a purpose! Along the way, students practiced communication, collaboration, problem-solving, patience, strategy, and good sportsmanship. Foundation Friday gives us a chance to build important skills while strengthening our classroom community. 

Future Focus students put their engineering skills to the test by working in teams to design and build the tallest freestanding tower using only limited classroom materials. Their structures had to support a cup at the very top while students practiced teamwork, communication, creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance along the way! There were plenty of wobbles, redesigns, collapses, and creative solutions, proving that sometimes the best learning happens when you have to plan, build, test, improve, and try again!

Future Focus is made up of students from all across our school, including members of our UNDEFEATED Cougar Football Team! These student-athletes were recognized during halftime of this week’s game for their hard work and success on the field. We’re proud to see our Future Focus students representing KRMS in the classroom, on the field, and throughout our school!
