When is the plant sale?
April 17, 2026 from 9am-6pm
Where is the plant sale located?
The sale is held at Griffin Region College and Career Academy in the greenhouse. The greenhouse is located in the back of GRCCA between GRCCA and Orrs Elementary. See the map below.
What types of plants will be available?
We offer a variety of vegetables, annuals, and specialty plants. Availability may vary.
Do I need to pre-order plants?
No. All plants will be available for walk-up purchase during sale hours on a first come, first serve basis.
Will you restock plants?
Plants are sold while supplies last, there will not be a restock.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We are only able to accept cash or check payments. Checks can be made out to GRCCA FFA.
How much sun do these plants need?
Sun requirements are listed with each plant on the Plant Sale page, as well as on the label. Most vegetables and flowering plants require full sun, while ferns and houseplants prefer partial shade or indoor light.
When should I plant these?
Plants may be planted immediately after purchase as long as there is no risk of frost.
How often should I water my plants?
Water thoroughly after planting. Most plants should be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry. Containers may require more frequent watering than in-ground plantings.
Do these plants need fertilizer?
A general-purpose fertilizer can be used according to label directions. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can damage plants.
Can these plants be grown in containers?
Yes. Many of our plants perform very well in containers. Be sure containers have drainage holes and are appropriately sized for the plant.
Are these plants safe for beginners?
Yes. All plants offered are selected for ease of care and good performance in our area.
What if I don’t have a garden bed?
Many plants can be grown in pots, raised beds, or containers on patios and porches.
Will these plants come back next year?
Most plants sold are grown as annuals and are intended to last for one growing season.
What should I do if my plant starts to struggle?
Ensure the plant is receiving the correct amount of sunlight and water, as overwatering is one of the most common issues. If problems continue, you may email Taylor DeLay at taylor.delay@gscs.org with a photo of the plant for guidance.
Can students help work the plant sale?
Yes. FFA members are encouraged to assist with setup, sales, and cleanup.
Does working the plant sale count toward FFA participation?
Yes. Participation may count toward FFA involvement and leadership activities.
