Popplet

Popplet is a mind mapping tool in which students can individually or collaboratively organize thoughts and ideas before drafting a paper. This tool can be used to outline a paper or to compare and contrast perspectives, concepts, or ideas pertaining to a specific topic, which makes it an effective tool to prepare for an argumentative essay or a debate.

canva

Canva is a free tool in which students can use to create presentations, social media graphics, posters, and infographics. Canva also includes free mind mapping software which also includes many templates to choose from.

Perdue online Writing lab (owl)

Perdue University has extended the services and resources offered to students beyond its campus. Students from all around the world can receive assistance with their writing projects via the OWL . Whether you need help with grammar, style, or MLA formatting, the OWL has the resources to assist you with your writing needs.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a great tool to use to catch grammatical errors while drafting a paper or after a paper has been drafted. Students have the option to draft the paper in Grammarly and then convert it into a Word document, or they can upload preexisting documents and make revisions as necessary. There is also an option to add Grammarly as a Chrome extension, all free of charge.

padlet

Padlet is a collaboration tool that students can use to collaborate on projects. Students can also create personal profiles and connect to others with similar interests. Create your free account by clicking here.

literary reference center

The Literary Reference Center is a resource in which students have access to a wide array of rich information on authors and literary works. With this resource, students can retrieve plot summaries, character profiles, criticisms, and articles on various literary works and biographies on major literary figures. They even have access to several full-text books. Students may retrieve this resource through Galileo by clicking here. Contact the media staff for the Galileo password.

Open Culture

Open Culture allows access to 1,000 free audiobook titles, particularly classic works of fiction, with no registration or special devices required. You can simply access this resource from a web browser.
