Although, the electronic waste can be screened and turn into an expensive goods to sell to many countries. However, it still has a problem. The waste don't include only harmless metal but also the toxic heavy metal too
is any relatively dense metal or metalloid which have toxicity, for example, cadmium, mercury, lead, manganese, chromium, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc etc.
Because of these metal, people are now concerning of the contaminated of the metal in the environment which can be dangerous for every life.
it can contaminate by
pollution and ash from the industry which use toxic heavy metal in their process
because most of the electronic device and electronic appliance consist of these metal
It becomes more serious when the contaminate can be found on food, drinks, cosmetics, kid's toys and many appliance because of their procession in the industry.
There are 2 solutions
1.decrease quantity of the use of toxin heavy metal
If toxic heavy metal can affect widely to both environment and human's life ,so we better decrease the use of it by finding new material which can be use in the same way but have no effect or have an effect less than toxic heavy metal.
2.protect yourselves from pollution from toxic heavy metal
wearing sanitary mask is an essential thing to do when you are in the industry area or near it. In addition, if you have to work in the risk area which have a large intenseness of toxic heavy metal, you better inspect the quantity of toxic heavy metal in your body, for example, by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry or ICP-MS which is a technology for the inspecting
Industrial heavy metal pollution threatens terrestrial life in Taiwan Province.
This study studied the biological concentration levels of essential elements and non-essential elements and related soils, and investigated the ecosystem health status of Kenting National Park in Taiwan. According to the investigation, the high biological concentrations of Cd, Hg and Sn in snails, earthworms, crabs, lizards, snakes and bats indicate that the terrestrial ecosystem is polluted. High concentrations of Cd, Hg and Sn in plant species, effective bioaccumulation of Cd by earthworms, snails, crabs and bats, and very high levels of Hg metals found in invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles have polluted biological communities.
