Gender Equalıty

medium.MOV

This is NOT equal. This is NOT fair.

Are we really equal?

First, some questions:

Are women and men are equal in your country?

Are men and women are equal in this world?

When we do surveys and ask people about the genders in society, we always see that we have never been equal. When we think about the profession ‘driver’, everybody thinks about a man.

Why can’t women be drivers or engineers?

On the contrary, when we think about the job ‘nanny’ we always think about women. These kinds of stereotypes are not fair.

If a boy wants to be a nurse, he should be!

If a girl wants to be an engineer, she should be!

On the other hand, some girls can’t live their lives. They can’t be what they want, they can’t go to the school and they can’t choose their husband by themselves. Why? Aren’t they humans? We should try not to think like that. They should choose their profession, they should be what they want and choose their husbands in the future. They should also decide how many children they want to have.

Women are not slaves of the men.

CO-EDUCATION

Some people think boys and girls should study separately at different schools. Others think that they should be taught together. In general, in schools of my country boys and girls study together, but there are some private schools with separated education.

Since the first grade I study in a state school with both boys and girls in my class and it's alright for me. However, I know almost nothing about another type of school. I think that it is good to study all together, because it helps us to learn how to communicate with people and it prepares us for future. It is also interesting: girls and boys differ so much in their choices of games, books, films, subjects. Nevertheless, this difference causes many complicated situations during the educational process, such as arguments and even injustice sometimes. This is why some parents choose private schools for their children.

But I'm not afraid to argue, to find answers to difficult life questions. I think, this is why I prefer co-education.
