You can always ask questions or ask for help if you need it.
Don't be afraid to ask, even if you spaced out during class and missed something I said. I'd rather repeat myself than leave you wondering what we're talking about or how to do an assignment. E-mail me anytime!
I will grade assignments and provide feedback quickly.
I know you'll want to know how you're doing and how you can raise your grade if you need to do that.
I will strive to be EQUITABLE in our classes.
This means that I will be trying to give each of you what he or she needs, which may mean I don't treat everyone exactly the same way. I'll need you to understand this and recognize that not everyone needs the same things.
Plan to stick around and pay attention.
Run to the bathroom and grab a snack during the breaks, keep phones, televisions, video games, and other media turned off, close out any unneeded tabs on your Chromebook, and make sure your family knows you need to focus during class.
Be ready to respond!
As your teacher, I'm watching for signs that what we're talking about makes sense to you. When called on, be ready to unmute and respond, even if that response is 'I don't know'. This helps me know if I need to explain something differently.
Check Google Classroom every day!
All of our assignments and other materials will be posted there, so make a habit of checking Google Classroom each morning. Your assignment due dates and scores will also be evident there.
The Gator Way describes the behavior expectations we observe to ensure that everyone in our school has an opportunity to learn safely, and demonstrates responsible and respectful treatment of each other and our school materials. Whether in school or learning virtually, please review these guidelines often so you'll know what we expect.
I love to catch you being good! Show me you're making an effort, and I will happily make sure others know too!
If you're having a bad day, I understand; that happens. I'll let you know what I need from you before we take it any further.
