Council

The Council of a University shall be the executive body and governing authority of the University

Members of the Council include:

1. the Vice-Chancellor;

2. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, if any;

3. Rector, if any;

4. the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, if any;

5. the Dean of each Faculty;

6. two members elected by the Senate from among its members; and

7. such number of members as is equal to the total number of members under paragraphs (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) and (vi) above, increased by one. All such members shall be appointed by the Commission from among persons who have rendered distinguished service in educational, professional, commercial, industrial, scientific, or administrative spheres.
