The Academic Affairs Division (AAD) of the University of Peradeniya is the latest addition to the University and established by the Governing Council of the University in June 2022 with the aim of undertaking activities of the Academic Development and Planning Committee (ADPC), coordinating among various divisions including Center for Quality Assurance (CQA), Staff Development Center (SDC), University Research Council (URC), and International Affairs Office (InRO) on matters concerning academic development, and also assisting the Vice Chancellor and academic entities to prepare comprehensive academic development plans and identify priorities for academic development of the University including of searching ways of integrating Postgraduate Institutes into University structure. A part-time Director is responsible for overall administration of the Division and supported by a Management Assistant.

● Undertake activities of the ADPC, including, review of proposals submitted to the ADPC for new academic programs and revisions of existing programs.

● Conduct needs assessment studies/surveys on employment market trends, and forecast manpower needs of the country, and make the results of such studies/surveys available to respective academic bodies of the university.

● Identify and propose new academic programs or courses, new faculties or departments or centers or units based on market trends and forecasts.
