PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE

五．課程宗旨：本課程是有關於以下問題的探索:建築與都市理論的研究方法究竟有那些呢?理性主義、經驗主義、實證主義、否證主義、歷史主義、多元主義...這一路下來的研究方法究竟是怎麼一回事呢?質性分析和量化分析究竟是水火不容或者相輔相成?詮釋學的方法和科學方法可能對話嗎?邏輯是什麼?它太嚴格了嗎?系統又是什麼?它為什麼被貼上了許多負面的標籤?是否存在「無系統」的理論?

六．上課方式

這是一個以討論為主的課程。同學們在上課之餘,必須閱讀資料、思考問題、報告心得、並相互討論。課程包括三種方式:(一)基本概念的解說及導讀。(二)透過作業的方式，探討都市理論及其發展史的哲學問題。(三)同學(自行)選讀參考文獻,做期末心得報告與討論。

如修課人數較多，將分組方式進行課堂報告。每位同學仍應各別繳交作業及心得報告；各組應另繳交一份經組員討論過的綜合報告，並輪流派一位組員上台報告該組之結論(包括不同意見)，其他組員應對該組之結論提出討論意見。
