2.2 オーセンティケーターアプリの設定  Setting up the Authenticator App 

オーセンティケーターアプリによる認証の設定・利用においては、ご自身のスマートフォンにオーセンティケーターアプリを導入する必要があり、以下のセットアップはオーセンティケーターアプリの導入後を想定しています。

まずは「オーセンティケーターアプリ」の「セットアップ」をクリックし、セットアップ画面を開いてください（図2）。

To set up and use authentication via an authenticator app, you will need to install an authenticator app on your smartphone.
The following setup steps assume that the app has already been installed.
First, click "Setup" under "Authenticator app" to open the setup screen (Figure 2).

セットアップ画面では、以下の手順でセットアップを進めてください（図3）。

①    「デバイス名」にオーセンティケーターアプリを導入した端末がわかる名前等を記入

②    QRコードをオーセンティケーターアプリで読み込む

③    オーセンティケーターアプリに表示された6桁の認証コードを入力

On the setup screen, please follow these steps to complete the process (Figure 3):

① Device Name: Enter a name that identifies the device where you installed the authenticator app.
② Scan QR Code: Scan the QR code using your authenticator app.
➂ Verification Code: Enter the 6-digit verification code displayed in your authenticator app.

設定が正常に完了すると、「多要素認証プレファレンス」画面上に「アクティブ」と表示され、オーセンティケーターアプリによる認証が利用可能になります（図4）。

Once the setup is successfully completed, "Active" will be displayed on the "Multi-factor authentication preferences" screen, and authentication via the authenticator app will be ready to use (Figure 4). 

※オーセンティケーターアプリについて

様々なオーセンティケーターアプリがありますが、ここでは例として千葉大学GWSアカウントで利用できる「Google認証システム（Google Authenticator）」とM365アカウントで利用できる「Microsoft Authenticator」の画面を紹介します（図5）。

Microsoft Authenticatorでは、ログインIDも表示されるので、Moodle上で複数アカウントをお持ちの場合は、Microsoft Authenticatorがおすすめです。

※About Authenticator Apps
While various authenticator apps are available, here we will use "Google Authenticator" (available with Chiba University GWS accounts) and "Microsoft Authenticator" (available with M365 accounts) as examples (Figure 5).
We recommend using Microsoft Authenticator if you manage multiple Moodle accounts, because it conveniently displays the login ID for each account.

Once the grace period has ended, you will be required to perform Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) whenever you log in to Moodle.
Specifically, after entering your ID and password, a screen will appear asking for a verification code, as shown in Figure 6.
Please note that even during the grace period, MFA will be required immediately after you complete the setup for an authenticator app. 

If you have already set up an authenticator app, please enter the verification code displayed in the app.
Specifically, after entering your ID and password, the screen shown on the left in Figure 6 will appear.
Additionally, if you check the box below the code input field that says, "Trust this device," 2-step verification will be waived for future Moodle logins during the period specified.
(Please note: You will still be prompted for 2-step verification if you attempt to log in from a different device or environment than the one used this time.)

3. 2 オーセンティケーターアプリを利用しない場合（メールを利用する場合） Without an Authenticator App (Using Email) 

オーセンティケーターアプリを設定していない場合は、「コードをメールで受け取る」をクリックすると、設定済みのメールアドレス宛に認証コードが届くとともに、図6の右の認証画面に変化するので受信した認証コードを入力してください。

If you have not set up an authenticator app, click "Receive code via email."
A verification  code will be sent to your registered email address, and the screen will change to the  verification display shown on the right side of Figure 6.
Please enter the code you received to log in.
