Hello All, thank you for coming to my website, below is a brief description of my job and responsibilities as Manchester Schools' Standards Based Teacher.
As a Standards Based Teachers my goal is to improve reading achievement at Manchester School. My responsibilities include teaching, coaching, and leading school reading and math programs. I provide professional development based on historical and current literature and research, work collaboratively with other professionals to build and implement reading and math programs for individuals and groups of students, and serve as advocates for students who struggle with reading and/or math.
My primary responsibility for working with students who struggle with reading/math and may provide intensive, supplemental instruction to these students. Such instruction may be provided either within or outside the students' classrooms. At times, I may provide literacy/math intervention instruction designed to meet the specific needs of students, or instruction that enables them to meet the requirements of the classroom reading/math program, or both.
I also have primary responsibility for supporting teacher learning. I provide professional development support that enables teachers to think reflectively about improving student learning and implementing various instructional programs and practices.
