Art 1: This is an introductory course to the art world. We focus on the foundational building blocks of design as well as experiment with different types of medium along the way. Students who pass this class can move on to any art class of their choice. One semester, .5 credits.
Art 2: This is an upper-level course that is designed to challenge students in their creative abilites. We will walk through an in-depth survey of a variety of artistic mediums. A culminating project at the end of the year will give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned so far and create a body of work using the medium of their choice. One year, 1 credit.
Digital Art: This course is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills needed to utilize digital imaging software in editing and designing images and graphics. Beginning with a fundamental look at design elements and principles, students will learn to use techniques related to digital imaging in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator primarily. The entirety of second semester is reserved for studying Photography. One year, 1 credit.
Ceramics 2: Ceramics II is a continuation of Ceramics 1 with additional emphasis placed on skills, individual styles, and experimentation. Students will complete sculptural and functional work through a variety of hand-building and wheel techniques. One year, 1 credit.
