Mission Statement
The mission of Greer Middle College is to produce well-rounded, college and career ready students through collaborative and engaging learning opportunities.
Overview
A GMC student accepts academic rigor as the main focus of high school, expects to attend college for training or a degree, has reached the maturity and skill level required to begin taking college courses, has reached a developmental level that allows independent work, and seeks the challenge to learn and grow.

About Mrs. Oyervides
Welcome to the GMC FAMILY and know I look forward to teaching you this year! This is my 11th year teaching and I can’t think of another career I’d rather want to have! I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education from the College of Charleston in 2013 and a Masters of Education degree in Health and Wellness Education from the American College of Education in 2020 and in 2022 I completed 30 additional graduate credit hours through the College of Charleston and am certified in Project Based learning and Virtual Education. I love all things science and nature and I have put lots of focused energy into facilitating a positive and interesting learning environment! Outside of school, I enjoy watching my husband play golf, being a mom to our two sweet children, gardening, traveling, exercising, playing in the yard with my dogs Murphy and Jade, SCUBA diving and spending time with loved ones.
Google classroom and calendar will be used throughout the year so check there first but, please feel free to contact me for anything!

Quiz & Test Academic Honesty Policy
Common examples of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to the following:
The school keeps a database on all academic dishonesty referrals spanning a student’s 4-year career. Consequences for violations of this policy will be progressive and take into account a student’s past history.
- Giving test questions or answers to a member of a later class or receiving test questions or answers from a member of an earlier class.
- Stealing or accepting stolen copies of tests or answer keys.
- Stealing or copying another student’s written assignment, paper, project, report, or take-home test.
- Permitting another student to copy one’s homework assignment, paper, project, report or take-home test.
- Falsely claiming illness to avoid taking an examination or turning in a paper, project, report or take-home test.
- Phone calls will be made to confirm the legitimacy of an illness and/or an appointment.
- Impersonating another student in taking an examination.
- Changing answers and seeking credit on an examination after the examination has been graded and returned.

Uniform GMC Late-work Grading Policy
A 10-point penalty will be assessed for each school day ANY and ALL assignments are late, up to 3 school
days. After 3 days, the assignment will receive 50% of credit earned. Minor assignments that have not been turned in by the end of the quarter in which they were assigned, will receive a grade of 0 that cannot be changed.
Major assignments that have not been turned in or completed by the end of the semester in which they were assigned, will receive a grade of 0 for the initial attempt that cannot be changed. Students with 0’s for major assignments may not be allowed to participate in certain functions (ie: EduScape).
