We can't believe we are a full week into the 26-27 school year!! Please continue to be patient with our carline. We ask that you always follow the instructions of the GMC employees working the carline. Remember to ALWAYS turn right as you leave both our lot and the campus! There's an important video below about how to NOT clog up the line. And we go into pretty good detail as part of the video Admin put out on July 22nd that can be found HERE.
STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP INSTRUCTIONS
It is extremely important for all parties to follow the instructions in this video when dropping off and picking up students, and ESPECIALLY from 7:45-8:00 am and also 15 minutes after our dismissal time (2:50-3:05 M-Th; 1:30-1:45 F). Thank you!
Also, students are NOT allowed to be dropped off or picked up in our student parking lot. This is for everyone's safety. Thank you!!
**Parent Portal log in credentials MUST be picked up in person. Families new to GMC can get there's after our meeting on Monday, August 10th. Otherwise, parents will need to get this from the front office after school starts. This is required by law to protect your child's information.
***A follow-up to the class meetings from fall of 2026 held with GMC administration can be found here!!

Personal Device RECOMMENDATION for GMC Students
For the upcoming school year, GMC will operate under a Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) format. Students will bring and use their own personal computing device for school. If a student does not have a device, they will be provided a device, as needed, from a classroom cart. Students will NOT be issued a device from the school for them to keep and take home. If you would like to purchase a device of your own to bring and use here at school, we are RECOMMEND the following:
A laptop PC (Dell or HP)
Windows 11 device
Minimum i5 processor chip
8 GB RAM (Minimum 8 GB RAM - 16 GB RAM preferable)
256 GB storage
Minimum 1 USB port
This is our recommendation because these PC's will work for both high school and GTC courses.
FAQs:
What about Chromebooks?
Chromebooks may work for freshmen IF they have enough storage to run complex web-based platforms.
What about Mac's?
Apple/MacBook's are usually fine, but there are two disclaimers: 1. Tech support from GMC's IT department may be limited and will take longer. 2. GTC is not structured to support or be user-friendly with Apple/MacBook's.
What about iPads? Without getting too technical, iPad simple won't work for multiple courses at GMC.
If you have any questions about this policy or the laptop recommendation, please email Mr. Dillard at jdillard@greermiddlecollege.org.
GMC DRESS CODE
Nothing has changed for THREE YEARS! Including the elimination of gray. Please pay close attention to the dress code in the student handbook. Official GMC attire is required to be the 4 school colors: Navy, Light Blue, White, or Black. NO GRAY.
