Teacher Appreciation Chalk Walk! PTSA held a covert operation as the sneaky chalk people, decorating the sidewalks in honor of our amazing teachers and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week. We had a blast doing it and hope it brought some joy to their day!
Shout out to the parents and students who participated. This will be an annual event so don't throw your chalk out at the end of summer!

REALITY CHECK! Reality Check was held at the High School Media Center on March 12th. This event included a fun financial literacy experience and career fair, as well as $1,000+ in prizes to give away. Students were able to talk with professionals representing over 50 careers in business, medicine, sports, trades, engineering, civil servants, farming, and more! Thank you to our sponsors who made this possible and our volunteers who made this a REALITY.

Middle Grade GLOW PARTY!
A massive THANK YOU to all the incredible volunteers who made our Glow Party a shining success! Your time, energy, and generosity truly lit up the night. With 140+ kids dancing and enjoying the festivities, it was a blast!
A shout-out to those who donated snacks and baked goods – your treats added an extra spark to the party! We had such an abundance of goodies that we've left some behind for the teacher's lounge and classroom snacks.
And the music and dancing would not have been possible without Justin Genevick. He graciously donated his equipment for a second year in a row.

Trick or treat? No tricks here, just treats!
At the Greenwich PTSA, we're proud to say it's all about the treats! This Halloween, we're excited to share some fantastic news. We've donated 40 brand-new headsets to the 5th grade classes, thanks to our commitment to enhancing education for the greater student community.
Did you know? The PTSA receives and reviews requests, giving top priority to projects that benefit a larger number of students. We also step in to provide funds for educational needs that cannot be met by other funding sources.
Together, we're making a difference in the lives of our local students!

Winning Back to School Smiles!
A thousand thanks to Greenwich Family Dentistry for their generous support! The $1,000 we won in the Greenwich Family Dentistry social media contest will be dedicated to enhancing programming and scholarships at Greenwich Central School. Our victory in this contest is proof that 'parents understood the assignment' when it came to rallying support for our community's education. We are thrilled to introduce you to the local superheroes who have taken up the mantle of leadership within our Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) board. Their passion, dedication, and enthusiasm are the driving force behind our mission to create a nurturing and empowering educational experience for our school community. Board terms are for two academic calendar years.
Introducing Our New PTSA Board Members:
Amanda Hurley (President): We are excited to announce Amanda as our new PTSA President! With her unwavering commitment and tireless advocacy for our students, we know she will lead us to new heights. Amanda has been active on the PTSA for 3 years and most recently filled the role of treasurer. Amanda has two students in the school district.
Alanna Powers (Vice President): Alanna's enthusiasm and innovative ideas will undoubtedly elevate our PTSA's impact on student life and academic success. As a teacher at GCSD and parent to two students in the district , Alanna brings a well-rounded view to the position of Vice President.
Kayleen Jansson (Treasurer): Kayleen's financial acumen and dedication make her an invaluable addition to our board. Her role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our initiatives. Kayleen also has two students in the school district.
Celebrating Returning PTSA Board Members:
Eliane Keyes (Secretary): Eliane's meticulous attention to detail and passion for organization continue to be a cornerstone of our PTSA's success. As a faculty member she has transparency into school happenings and is able to assist on many levels. El has two children in the school district.
Rachel Clothier (VP of Operations): Rachel's strategic thinking and operational expertise will play a vital role in driving the execution of our initiatives. She has two students in the district.

The PTSA, along with several other local sponsors, hosted the Reality Check: A Game of Life event on Saturday, January 21st. This game and unique career fair was geared toward 10th-12th graders and included opportunities to talk with alumni and locals from various career paths: Ag Science, The Trades, The Arts, Medical, Sports Science, The Military, First Responders, Education and more.
Many door prizes were raffled off including: a $500 Apple Store Gift Card, $300 Visa Gift Card, $100 Visa Gift Card, Skyzone passes, Movie Theater Tickets and so much more.

The PTSA closed out their 21-22 school year fundraising efforts by hosting a Dunk Tank at Whipple City Festival this past weekend. Teachers, coaches, and town officials braved the cooler than normal weather to “do their time” in the tank. No one was safe from the brisk water. Each volunteer in the tank took more than one splash, with Caine Martin leading the way with 24 dunks in a 30-minute shift. Brrr!!!

The Greenwich PTSA would like to give a big SHOUT OUT to Stewart’s Shops for their Holiday Matching program.
Stewart’s generously awarded the PTSA $750 this year. With this match the PTSA is able to sponsor engaging and fun activities for the upcoming GReaT program (Greenwich Reads Together) at the Greenwich Primary and Middle Grade schools. All students in grades K-6 will read the same book this May. Throughout the month the school and the PTSA will sponsor activities that center around the chosen book.
THANK YOU to Stewart’s for always giving back to the community and supporting our schools. And Thank you Greenwich for supporting Stewart’s! Over half of the funds they award are donate by customers like YOU.
