My name is Roy Ravenell. I have been a teacher in Greenville County for 15 year. I have spent the last 4 years as the head coach at Southside High School. I spent one year before that at Greer High School. I spent my first 10 years working at Wade Hampton High school. My first two years, I worked with the special education department before moving into the math department. For the last 13 years, I have taught numerous subjects within mathematics. I have enjoyed the adventures of teaching new students each an every year, and now ready to begin this journey at Hillcrest High school.
I attended Furman University in Greenville, SC for my undergraduate degree. I later went back to school to get my Master's in education from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Between receiving those degrees, I spent time coaching college football down at Savannah State. I then went on to play professional Arena Football for 3 years before entering back into the classroom. I use that time to go all across America but found my way back to Greenville in the end.
I now reside here with my lovely wife, Trina, and my 3 children Kamari (13), Camden (11) and baby Channing (7).
