About me
Hello! I am beginning my 23nd year of teaching in middle school. I have been at Northwood for all of those years except school year 2020-2021 when I taught in the virtual program. For many years I taught 8th grade South Carolina history. For the past few years I have been teaching 7th grade. The curriculum for 7th grade changed from world history 1600-present to world geography just two years. I actually LOVE geography and learning about other places and cultures around the world. I also have a slight obsession with sea turtles, as your student will be able to share with you as we go throughout the year.
I am also a mom--my son Austin is an 11th grader this year at Eastside, and my daughter is a 8th grader here at Northwood. And I have two fur babies that we adopted in January 2021. Creamsicle is our orange tabby girl and Beesley is my hyper black and gray tabby boy. I have nicknamed them the "vultures" because they expect people food when we are eating! And my husband teaches social studies at Eastside High School. As you can see, school is important in our family! I also enjoy reading (a lot!), cooking, weightlifting, singing, and playing handbells at my church.Â
My Beesley boy!
Queen Creamsicle!
