FAC Application Opens - Wednesday, October 1, 2025
January 6-16, 2025 - Window for returning students to declare intentions for SY 26-27
January 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Thursday) - Final deadline for new applications.
The only exceptions to this deadline are for families that move into Greenville County.
Notification of Audition Dates and Times - Students who are offered an audition will be notified by January 28, at the latest. Notifications will be communicated via the Acceptd program.
March 11 - Notification of results via Acceptd
March 27 - Deadline for students to accept their offer to the FAC
Audition requirements are the same for Pre-screening and for Live Auditions
Students should prepare the requirements for at least two of the following instruments:
Snare Drum
rudiments (as many as you know)
a solo or etude
possible sight reading
Drum Set
a solo piece and/or demonstration of styles (rock, funk, jazz swing, latin, etc)
Mallet Percussion
scales and arpeggios (as many as you know)
a solo or etude
possible sight reading
Timpani
a solo or etude
demonstration of timpani roll (single stroke roll)
For Jazz Drummers/Percussionists
First time applicants to the FAC who are interested in studying drums and/or percussion in the Jazz program must apply to and audition for the Percussion program. Most new students will need to study percussion and Music Theory I their first year in order to establish the basic competencies necessary to succeed in the Jazz program. Placement decisions will be made jointly by the percussion and jazz instructors, and may also reflect the number of available drum chairs in the FAC jazz combos.

In order to receive an audition with us, you must be a student in good standing at your school. We will look at your discipline record and grades to ensure that you will be a successful student in the rigorous, independent learning environment of the FAC.
