My name is Kenya Wilkinson. I am the sixth-grade mathematics teacher for our team!
I received my bachelor’s degree in education from Clemson University in 2000. My first teaching position was in eighth-grade mathematics at Beck Academy in Greenville, SC. After teaching five years at Beck Academy, I relocated to Delaware where I remained for 18 years. While living there, I taught eighth-and ninth-grade math at Gunning Bedford Middle School in the Colonial School District in New Castle, Delaware. I also attended the University of Delaware and earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2010. Two years ago, I returned to my Southern roots and became a proud Yellow Jacket! All combined, I have twenty-five years of teaching experience in middle-level mathematics. I look forward to the opportunity to enlighten more young minds with math!
Aside from teaching, I am the mother of three adult children and the grandmother of three little ones. Both of my sons served in the military. My eldest son served ten years in the Delaware Army National Guard. He is now a civilian residing in New Castle, Delaware. He is the father of three beautiful children: two daughters, 13 & 9 and a two-year-old son. My youngest son is a Marine combat veteran who served eight years and was last stationed in Twentynine Palms, California. He is now a civilian residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. My daughter is the youngest of my three children. She and her husband live in Derry, New Hampshire.
