Mrs. Phelps

Hello! My name is Sarah Phelps, and this is my 19th year teaching. I am thrilled to be a Welcome teacher for the 13th year. This year, I teach reading to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Graders, and 4th Grade Science Lab. 

I moved from Chicago, IL in June 2013 where I taught elementary and middle school for four years. Prior to Chicago, I taught middle school in Los Angeles, CA. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with my BA in Political Science in 2006. In 2009, I completed my Masters in Education from the University of Notre Dame. I am certified and highly qualified in 4 areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle Level Social Studies, and Literacy Teacher. 

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. In my free time, I also enjoy reading, watching Notre Dame football, knitting, and spending time in the outdoors. I am excited about all we will learning this year together in small groups. My teaching philosophy is that all children have the right to learn in a safe, supportive environment where they can meet their goals and realize their dreams.
