My name is Debbie Lombel and I will be your child’s 6th Grade ELA teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child on this 6th grade ELA journey.

This is my 17th year teaching after earning my education degree from the University of Maryland.  Maryland is where my husband of twenty-five years and I grew up and lived until 2006.  It was then that our family relocated, and we started this wonderful venture in South Carolina. We have loved every minute living here and raising our three children, Drew (22), John (22) and Kate (19).  It was a busy May (2025) for my family as Drew and John graduated from their respective colleges, UofSC and Lincoln Memorial University.  Meanwhile, Kate finished her freshman year at UofSC.  This summer I enjoyed traveling to the beach (my favorite vacation spot), visiting family, reading lots of great middle school novels and relaxing.   

It has always been my goal to instill a love of reading, writing and learning in each student to develop life-long learners.  I cannot wait to begin this 6th grade journey with you and your child. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns.  I look forward to a fantastic year!
