VirtualSC Program – Free Summer Courses
(Space is limited. Students should register ASAP)
The VirtualSC Summer Program offers free online courses for students who need to take a class for Initial Credit or for those who have failed a class (Credit Recovery). To enroll, students must complete the following steps:
- Complete a VirtualSC Summer Program Application available on this site and submit to your counselor.
- Set-up your VirtualSC Account using the instructions that are provided on this site. If you already have an account you do not need to set up another account.
- Request your classes through your personal VirtualSC Account. You are highly encouraged to sign-up as soon as registration opens (see dates below).
These are courses students are taking for the first time and have never failed.
- Students may request these courses after submitting an application to their assigned school counselor on the following dates:
- Juniors and seniors may begin requesting Initial Credit Courses May 16–May 30.
- Freshmen and sophomores may begin requesting Initial Credit Courses May 23–May 30.
- Classes begin on June 6.
- Final exams are required and will be administered July 31, August 1 and 2 ONLY at Mauldin High School. Students must be in town and report to a designated location. Students may choose ProctorU for virtual proctoring of exams (www.proctoru.com). There is a fee for using ProctorU.

These are courses that the students have taken previously and failed.
- Students may request these courses after the application has been submitted to their assigned school counselor.
- Juniors and Seniors may begin requesting credit recovery classes April 25-June 8.
- Freshmen and Sophomores may begin requesting credit recovery classes May 2-June 8
- Credit Recovery courses begin on a rolling basis. This means that once the student requests the course, the course will begin the following Monday.
- The deadline to request a Credit Recovery Course is June 8.
- The last date to start a Credit Recovery Course is June 11.
- Credit Recovery classes must be completed by August 2.
- Credit Recovery Courses do not have a proctored final exam.

*Students who wish to take credit recovery for an End Of Course (EOC) class must first have proof that they have taken the End Of Course (EOC) Exam before they turn in a summer school application.*
