Expectations for Student Behavior

Refer to page 12 in the student/parent handbook for school wide rules. Students are expected to follow the expectations posted in the classroom, which we have reviewed during our class community building sessions.

Behavior and Rewards

Our class spends the year learning focusing on social emotional learning (SEL). We participate in activities and reflect on work habits and situations that will help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are working daily to stay positive, be kind to our peers, and to have a vision/goals. We also focus on creating a strong school family to provide structure for safety and feeling valued. One part of this is for all students to have jobs.

In conjunction with mindset and positive energy, students will have the opportunity to earn rewards based on various behavior management tools used in the classroom. In August and September, we are working as a class on a competition called Puzzle Wars. These wars focus on practicing the expectations as a class. When the wanted behaviors are displayed, the students earn a puzzle piece. The students will receive individual and whole class recognition for positive behavior choices.
