INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY Troupe 7318
International Thespian Society
The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,900 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EDTA).
Troupe 7318
A Thespian troupe is an honor society that recognizes and rewards excellence among the participants in the theatre arts program. Induction into the International Thespian Society is an honorable achievement, which the troupe director should promote to their students.
Troupe Membership
To become a Thespian, a student must earn 10 points. Induction points can be earned in for acting and technical production. Only students who have completed all eligibility requirements and had their induction fees and information submitted to the National Office by the troupe director are members of the Thespian troupe and the International Thespian Society.
Club Meetings
All meetings are afterschool in the Theatre Room FA-105. Theatre program will be discussed along with spending time in fellowship with other members.
Officer Duties:
The troupe director may assign other duties.
President
The President must be a senior at TRHS with a 4.0 GPA in their academic core classes.
The President will preside at all meetings, appoints all standing and special committees, and directs and supervises troupe activities under the supervision of the troupe director.
President is responsible for the Troupe Social Committee (Troupe get-togethers, activities to bond).
President is responsible for checking daily for cleanliness and locked doors the: the stage, house and trash when in rehearsal and production week.
Vice President
The Vice President must be a junior or senior at TRHS with a 4.0 GPA in their academic core classes.
The Vice President will preside in the absence of the president.
The Vice President is responsible for the referring new members to induct into troupe 7318.
The Vice President is responsible for making sure officer meetings and troupe monthly events are occurring.
The Vice President is responsible for checking daily for cleanliness and locked doors the: the booth, dressing rooms, props closet and trash.
Scribe
The Scribe must be a junior or a senior at TRHS with a 3.5 GPA in academic core courses.
The Scribe will keep the records of all meetings (officer, company, Thespian).
The Scribe will make sure troupe, play, and musical announcements are made.
The Scribe will assist with keeping up the activities troupe members are involved for points.
The Scribe is responsible for TRHS Theatre (school announcements, posters around school, finding adults for ticket sales, etc.)
The Scribe is responsible for checking daily while in production for cleanliness of all theatre area including booth and trash.
Historian
The Historian must be a sophomore or junior at TRHS with a 3.5 GPA in academic core courses.
The Historian will keep picture and video documentation of all productions and troupe outings throughout the year.
The Historian will make a slideshow for every production to keep within the company.
The Historian will make the senior slide show.
Responsible for checking daily for cleanliness in all theatre areas while in production.
Technical Liaison
The Technical liaison at TRHS must have a 3.5 GPA in academic core courses.
The Technical liaison is responsible for training techies for events at the school in sound, lighting, and projection.
The Technical liaison is responsible for scheduling techies for school events and productions.
The Technical liaison is responsible for finding props, costumes, and other items needed for productions.
The Technical liaison is responsible for changing gels, bulbs, and re-aiming lights for productions.
Responsible for checking for cleanliness in all booth including covering boards when raining and removing trash from booth.
Beauty Representative
The Beauty Representative at TRHS must have a 3.5 GPA in academic core courses.
The Beauty Representative is responsible for training students in doing hair, make-up, and any other beauty needs for events at the school.
The Beauty Representative is responsible for scheduling student for school events and productions needing hair and make-up needs.
The Beauty Representative is responsible for costume and training the costumer for productions.
Responsible for checking for cleanliness in both dressing room including costumes, make-up, counters, etc. being picked up.
Parliamentarian
The Parliamentarian at TRHS must be passing academic core courses.
The Parliamentarian order and discipline at all troupe meetings, outings, and rehearsals for all productions along with the stage manager for each production.
The Parliamentarian is responsible for demerits among all members.
Responsible for assisting with cleanliness during productions.
Thespian Points
One point represents approximately 10 hours of excellent work.

60 Points Honor Thespian (Blue)
120 Points National Honor Thespian (Gold)
180 Point International Honor Thespian (Blue & Gold)
Scholar Levels
International Honor Thespian Points (180) plus Academic Achievement
3.0 GPA International Honor Thespian Scholar (White & Gold)
3.5 GPA International Honor Thespian Vice President Scholar (Blue & Gold)
4.0 GPA International Honor Thespian President Scholar (Blue & Gold)
