Title I Facilitator
Hello! My name is Dr. Kara Medlin and I am excited for another school year at Welcome Elementary School as the Title I Facilitator. I was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, PA and attended Kutztown University for my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I lived and taught in Hawaii and Virginia prior to moving to SC. I love spending time outdoors with my family. We have a cat named Oreo and a Yorkipoo named Wicket.
Title I Social Worker
My name is Meghan Shroy, and I am the Title One School Social Worker at Welcome. I have lived in Greenville for the majority of my life, and am a product of Greenville County Schools. I went to college at Trevecca Nazarene University, where I got my Bachelors degree in Social Work in 2007, and I graduated in 2010 with my Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University. After I got my MSW, I worked in the mental health field as a counselor for children and adolescents for 6 years before being hired by the school district. This is now my sixth year as a school social worker and I love the relationships I have built with both students and parents. When I am not at work, I spend most of my time with my husband (Matt), son (Dylan), and our dog (Remmy). I love going hiking, traveling, reading books, and spending time with friends. I look forward to getting to know you over the upcoming school year.
My office hours at 7:30a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please feel free to contact me by phone at 864-355-3943 or by email at rshroy@greenville.k12.sc.us if you need to get in touch with me.
