Mr. Hilker
The Basics
Hi! My name is Thomas Hilker! I am 32 years old and I will be your child's 5th-grade teacher for the 2023-2024 school year! This will be my 10th year teaching, and my 7th year in Greenville County and at Oakview Elementary. My wife, Samantha, our dogs, Luna and Peyton, and I moved to Greenville so that she may attend her Master's program in Counseling at Clemson. Recently, back in February, Samantha and I had our first child, Anderson! I am excited to make this a great year for your students and myself!
My Childhood!
I grew up in Powder Springs, Georgia; a suburb of Atlanta. I attended Varner Elementary School from Kindergarten to 5th grade. I then attended Tapp Middle School for 6th-8th grade before graduating from McEachern High School in 2009. I participated in many activities, but mainly sports. I grew up playing Baseball, Soccer, Tennis, and I was on the local swim team. I try to stay active, and get outside as much as I can.
My Education
In December of 2013, I graduated from Georgia Southern University, GSU, with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education. I recently completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University.
