Speech & Debate Wins District Competition
Congratulations to the Riverside High School Speech & Debate Team for winning the 2024 National Speech and Debate Association South Carolina District Qualifier held at Riverside High School on March 15-16. Students who qualified from this tournament will represent South Carolina at the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament in Des Moines, IA, June 16-21. In addition to winning the overall award, Riverside also won every team category for the district tournament: Congress, Debate, and Speech. Several Riverside students qualified to attend the national tournament: Treesa Abraham in Informative Speaking, Gauryama Blanchard in Dramatic Interpretation, Valeria de la Llave in Program Oral Interpretation, Zane Holley in United States Extemporaneous Speaking, Samantha Mamrick in Program Oral Interpretation, Shanik Miedreich in Dramatic Interpretation, Isabella Murillo in United States Extemporaneous Speaking, Krteyu Ramanathan in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Enyo Toklo in Original Oratory, and Kai Tucker in Humorous Interpretation.
Two teams qualified in Duo Interpretation: the team of Artem Feno and Sashwath Sivaraman and the team of Charline Monnier and Aahanna Das. Two team qualified in Public Forum Debate: the team of Andy Lin and Rebecca Han and the team of Samhitha Visikamalla and Keerthana Sankarapu.
2024 Prom - The 2024 Riverside High School Prom will be Saturday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. at The Venue by Southern Bleachery. Please visit the links for the RHS Prom Website and to purchase tickets. "A Night to Remember" is the theme for the 2024 Riverside High Prom. Tickets will begin on Monday, February 12 through Friday, April 5. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday. April 5. Tickets are $40.00 each. Tickets will be picked up on April 1-5 during all lunch shifts. Prom Guest Approval Forms will only need to be completed for students coming from outside of Riverside High School. These forms will be posted on the RHS Prom website. They will also be located in the front office. All Guest Approval Forms must be completed by the guests school and dropped off or emailed to Mrs. Latson prior to the purchase of tickets.
May Calendar - Please see the attached calendar for May. It includes all testing, exams and material return dates. Please plan accordingly as students must take their exams on the assigned dates.
We want to make everyone aware of a new cell phone policy that will go into effect January 4th when student return.
Effective January 4, 2024, all Greenville County High Schools will implement a cellphone-free policy. The policy states that personal electronic devices cannot be used by students in classrooms during the instructional day. (Electronic devices include but are not limited to cell phones, earbuds...etc.)
All personal devices must remain out of sight of others during this time. Students may use personal electronic devices during class changes, lunch, and other times outside of the classroom during the instructional day unless directed differently by the principal or principal’s designee.
The instructional day for high schools is between the hours of 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
2024 Graduation! The Riverside High School Class of 2024 will graduate at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Please see the attached information regarding graduation information.

2024 Football Schedule - The Riverside High School 2024 Varsity Football Schedule has been released. Please see the Warriors' opponents for the upcoming seasons.
Parents and Guardians,
In light of recent events at athletic venues across the country, Greenville County Schools has updated its safety requirements for athletic events, effective immediately.
For all Greenville County Schools athletic events, the following requirements are in place to ensure the safety of all attendees:
Middle school students and younger must be accompanied by an adult 19 years old or older to every athletic event
High school students must have a school-issued ID to enter an athletic event alone; otherwise, they must be accompanied by an adult 19 years old or older
No loitering in any area; all fans need to sit in the home or visitor stands during the event
Not following any of the rules outlined above will result in removal from the event without a refund
As a reminder, there is a clear bag policy for GCS events.
In addition, Riverside High School does not allow any outside food or drink into the stadium.
Thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the safety of all attendees.

PTSA School Store Volunteers Needed
The RHS School Store is open from 12 - 2:15 p.m. Monday - Friday in the cafeteria. We still need volunteers to assist in the school store during lunch! If interested in volunteering, please see the Sign-Up Genius below. Feel free to bring a friend. You can use the comments section to indicate if someone is joining you. Also, if you're new to working the School Store, let Loree Hartzog know. She’s happy to volunteer with you to show you the ropes. It's easy and really fun! Shopping Rebates are an easy way to donate money directly back to Riverside while you shop. Each time you use your Harris Teeter, Lowe’s or Publix cards, a portion of your sales can be donated back to RHS! And with Givebacks, every time you use your credit card RHS has an opportunity to earn money. Please consider signing up for all of these programs – THEY MUST BE RENEWED EACH SCHOOL YEAR!
Harris Teeter has just approved RHS for their Together in Education program. If you’re not already a member, Sign Up for a VIC Card. If you already have a VIC Card, Link your VIC Card to 7472 - Riverside High School PTSA (or ask them to add school #7472 to your card at checkout) and start earning money for RHS. And HT Plus memberships (including free trials) mean an automatic $10 to RHS per membership.
Lowe’s Foods donates through their Back2Schools program. If you are a Lowe’s Fresh Rewards member, please enroll in their Cart to Class program and associate Riverside High to your card.
Publix has raised over $83,000 for RHS to date. Join Club Publix, if you’re not already a member. If you are a Club Publix member, Log in to your Club Publix account. Select My Publix Partner in your Account/Profile to choose Riverside High School PTSA. Then pay with the Publix app, or enter your phone number at checkout.
MemberHub Givebacks allows PTSA members to associate RHS to your credit card purchases. Login to your PTSA MemberHub account, add the Givebacks extension and select Riverside High School PTSA as your cause. Link any credit card you choose and a portion of your eligible purchases will be given back to our school.
