Hey everyone!

I’m Katherine West (Ms. West) and I’m so excited to be teaching 8th Grade English Studies and English 1 Honors at Greenville Middle Academy this year! This is my 6th year teaching—and my 6th year at GMA! I’m originally from the Greenville area, so getting to teach in my hometown has been such a full-circle moment for me. I graduated from Anderson University with a B.A. in Secondary English Education during the height of COVID-19, which taught me a lot about patience, flexibility, and perseverance (because let’s be honest…online learning was hard when Netflix crime series were calling!). Outside of the classroom, I’m a big fan of young adult books, movies, playing in a Co-Ed Rec Soccer League (Summer Champs, just saying!), and running with the Greenville Run Club. I also proudly cheer for my favorite football team—Go Clemson Tigers! 🐅 I can't wait for a LIT year—literature, learning, and lots of growth!
