My name is Tawanda Bowie, and this is my twelfth year at Duncan Chapel Elementary! Prior to my move, I resided in Charlotte, NC, and taught fourth grade in Rock Hill, SC. I have been in the education profession for 19 years and am highly qualified in Elementary Education. My experiences include teaching fourth grade and working with Reading Recovery, which involved teaching struggling readers in first grade.
I am a Winthrop University graduate, completing both my undergraduate work (BA Elementary Education) and graduate studies (MA Education/Literacy) as a Winthrop University Eagle. In September of this year, I completed my doctoral studies at Southern Wesleyan University.
I am married to my best friend of many years, Benny Bowie and together we have one son, Jaxon Hayes. We also have a very active boxer named Prime. In my spare time I enjoy reading, exercising, shopping, and spending time with love ones.
