The Leader in Me is a model for schools. It was created by educators for educators. It is built on the belief that everyone can be a leader in some way; everyone has genius. At Taylors we believe that this is true - all of our students are leaders!
This program increases student success by focusing on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.

The 7 Habits for Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey was adapted for by Sean Covey to introduce the 7 Habits to kids. These habits encourage leadership among our students and empower them to lead beyond the classroom.
Habit 1: Be Proactive- taking initiative and responsibility for one's actions.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind- Planning ahead and setting goals.
Habit 3: Put First Things First- Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
Habit 4: Thing Win-Win- Seeking solutions that benefit everyone involved.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand then to be Understood- Listening actively and communicating effectively.
Habit 6: Synergize- Working together to achieve more than what can be done alone.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw- Taking care of oneself physically, mentally, and emotionally.
At Taylors Elementary, we have many opportunities for students to show their leadership.
Some of these responsibilities appear in roles like serving as a member of our Student Lighthouse Team, Safety Patrol, Morning Helpers, News Crew and more. These roles are communicated with students and families at the beginning of each school year. If you enter Taylors mid-year, please reach out to your child's teacher or administration to ask about these opportunities.
Other opportunities are born within our classrooms. We believe every student has genius, and when the need arises teachers work diligently to match leadership roles with students.
Students have a voice at Taylors Elementary School. They help us plan events and make decisions.
