Sharon Russo, Lead Teacher
Hello, I am Sharon Russo and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. This is my 27th year teaching, and my second at Riley CDC. Over the years, I have taught 4k, at Greenville Tech in the Early Childhood Program, at the Meyer Center, Washington Center, and preschool special ed around the district.
I am a Greenville native. I am a graduate of University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) in Early Childhood, and Converse College with a Masters in Special Ed.
I have been married to my husband, Brent, for 26 years. We have two boy, Woods (23) who just graduated from LSU and Martin (20) who is a junior at USC. I have two dogs (both girls!) Latte and a puppy Lettie.
In our free time, we enjoy watching sports (especially SEC football!), traveling and being on the water at the lake and the beach. Personally, I love to read, drink coffee and Cokes zeros and enjoy cooking and searching for a deal when I have time.
Devonte Cason, Assistant Teacher
Hello, my name is Devonte Cason, and I am excited to be a part of the RIley CDC family this school year!
This is my second year working as a Special Education Aide and my first at Riley. Before joining Riley, I worked at Woodmont High School. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in Sports and Entertainment Management. Although my degree is in sports, I discovered a passion for working with students and helping them grow both academically and personally.
Outside of school, I enjoy building with Lego sets, playing Playstation, and spending time with family and friends. My favorite colors are red and blue, and also serve as a outh choir director at my church where I enjoy mentoring and encouraging young people.
I believe every child has unique strengths and the ability to succeed. My goal is to create a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel safe, valued and confident to learn. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with each student and partnerinf with families to help make this school year a successful and memorable one.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's educational journey. I am looking forward to an amazing school year with your child!
