¡Hola! My name is Sam Brown and it is a pleasure to welcome you to my Spanish class! I graduated from Eastside High in 2015 where I played basketball and was a part of the Spanish Honor Society. I went on to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Entertainment Management in 2019. I LOVE teaching Spanish! Ever since I started learning Spanish in high school, I have over and over fallen in love with the Spanish language and culture, and I love having the privilege of sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with my students.
Spanish is widely spoken (especially in the United States!) and a very practical language to know. Learning a foreign language takes serious effort, but is a blast and offers you so many great ways to connect with people and experience so many great things!
I have experience teaching Exploratory Spanish, Spanish 1, and Spanish 2! This year I will be teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 Honors. My job will be to prepare you to succeed in Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 Honors next year! My expectations will be high! I expect students to be able to listen closely to directions, keep up with assignments, and to keep an organized eNotebook. Chromebooks must be charged and personal headphones are highly recommended!
My greatest hope is that you will get as excited about the language and culture as I am and continue to study Spanish in the future and perhaps study abroad!
I am located in room #207.
