About Mrs. Jordan

My name is Kelly Jordan. I am thrilled to be teaching kindergarten at Slater-Marietta Elementary! I cannot imagine doing anything else! What a privilege it is to work with your children and you this year!

Kindergarten will be a year of tremendous growth for your child! It is an exciting year as each child begins to see himself as a reader, a writer, a mathematician, a scientist, and a lifelong learner!

A little about myself....I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. I am Highly Qualified in Early Childhood Education. This will be my 19th year teaching, and I have taught at Crestview, Brook Glenn, Gateway, and Armstrong Elementary. I have taught kindergarten and first grade, and I am passionate about teaching children to read!

I have been married to my husband, Michael, for 29 years. We have two daughters, Elizabeth and Katherine. We are animal lovers; we have ten dogs (rescues), one cat and a horse!

In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, playing with our dogs, and antiquing.
