About Me

Hello! My name is Stephanie Booth and I will be your teacher this year! I have been a 6th grade teacher at Riverside Middle School for the last four years, and I'm thrilled to be teaching 7th this year! A few of my students already had me as a teacher last year, but for those who are new, let me tell you a little about myself! I am originally from Chicago, Illinois (home of the deep dish pizza, one of my favorite foods), and I moved to South Carolina to attend Bob Jones University. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education: Math/Science. I love reading, sewing, coffee, my cat, and all things nerdy, including superheroes, sci-fi, and D&D (check out the tab for Swords and Stories club if you want to try it out)! I also really love to travel! During my life I've been lucky enough to travel with my family to amazing places like England, Ireland, France, Israel, Mexico, and Costa Rica! My desire is that each and every one of my students can embrace the diversity of experiences found in the world around us. Teaching and making connections with my students is my passion. In fact, I have wanted to teach since I was three years old! I love science and math, both because of the subject matter, and because scientific and mathematical literacy - being able to think and reason logically and linearly - is such an important life skill. My goal this year is to show my students how cool math and science can be and how they can use it to relate to the world around them in a useful way!
