Homework:
Second grade homework will be a review of what is covered in the classroom on that particular day.
Homework should be turned in daily. If there are any problems completing the homework assignments,
please send a note. If a student becomes too frustrated, STOP! I do not want any child to see homework as a negative
experience. However, if a child just simply forgets to do it, leaves it at school, or forgets it at home, a warning will be
given the first time. If the assignments are forgotten or simply not completed after the warning is given he or she will
will work on their homework during our recess time.
Sometimes students have difficulty focusing on homework at the end of the day.
Try some of the pointers listed below if needed:
ü Divide the homework into sections. Give each part individually. This way helps a child who becomes frustrated when they read an entire sheet of work.
ü Go over the homework orally first. This includes reading the directions to the child. After talking about the homework, have your child write the answers on their paper.
Our homework assignments will be the same, for the most part, every night and listed in the Homework folder as well as on the Monday Memo.
