About the Teacher
Dr. Amy Burnett
Welcome to my class website! Thank you for taking some time to learn about me and the classes that I teach. As a 2001 graduate of Berea High School, I am a PROUD BEREA BULLDOG! This is my 19th year of working in Berea Schools. I spent my first 15 years teaching here at Berea High School and then took 3 years to serve as the Instructional Coach at Berea Middle School. I have loved all of my jobs in the Berea schools, but the one that I loved the most was as a classroom teacher working directly with students. For this reason, I am returning for year 19 as an Algebra 1 and Prob & Stats teacher.
I hold a South Carolina Educator Certificate and am Highly Qualified to teach Mathematics. I also hold an AP Statistics Endorsement. You can read more below about my educational background if you'd like.
I am married to my middle school sweetheart, Todd (also a Berea Alumni), and we have a son, Jay. Todd is also a teacher and works at Hillcrest High School. Jay will be 5 this year and keeps us very busy.
When I'm not busy with work or keeping up with Jay, I am likely watching Clemson Football or binging my latest tv series obsession. I also enjoy baking and photography.
I graduated with my B.S. in Mathematics Education from Anderson College (Now Anderson University) in 2005 after completing my student teaching at Berea High.
After a few years of teaching, I earned my Masters in Education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2008.
In 2018, I completed my Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina. Of course, I'm still a HUGE CLEMSON FAN!
