My name is Sherrie Brookie and I am the Instructional Coach at Bryson Elementary. I have been in the educational field for twenty years. I have taught many grade levels and served on administrative teams in Greenville County. I have a passion for working with children and helping them to meet their highest potential. Currently, I work with teachers to improve student achievement.
I attended Clemson University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Then, I headed over to Southern Wesleyan University and earned a Master's Degree in Classroom Leadership. I loved learning so much that I continued my educational journey at Liberty University where I obtained an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
In November of 2021, I successfully defended my 250+ page doctoral dissertation and was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am endorsed in Gifted and Talented education, ESOL, and have completed the Instructional Coach Institute through Greenville County Schools.
I have been married to my amazing husband Austin for twenty years and we have two beautiful children named Charlie (11) and Lucie (8). My son is in 6th grade and our daughter will enter 3rd grade this year. Our dog Smokey is our firstborn and we recently got a puppy named Blue.
My hobbies include anything that can be done outside, but mostly I enjoy traveling. I have had the opportunity to explore 33 countries around the world. At each location, I try to incorporate fun experiences. For example, I have dog sledded under the Northern Lights in Norway, hiked a glacier in Canada, hang glided off of a mountain in Brazil, and ridden a camel in the outback of Australia. All of these experiences have helped me to love and appreciate all of the diverse cultures and individuals in our world!
