I attended Greenville County Schools and graduated from Travelers Rest High School (class of 1999).  I attended Wofford College and then the College of Charleston.  I have a Spanish undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in teaching (MAT, grade 2-6).  I began my teaching career at Goodwin Elementary School in North Charleston and taught fourth grade there for three years.  Goodwin is where I met my husband and also where he proposed.  We moved to back Greenville to be closer to my family.  When we moved, I taught fourth grade at Welcome Elementary School for five years.  I was named their Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013.  I transitioned to Instructional Coach at Monaview Elementary School and served in that role for nine years.  During that time, I had an intermediate focus and then a focus in math instruction K-5. I was nominated as one of Upstate Parent Magazine's Top Ten Educators Who Make a Difference.  I was also recognized as a 2019-2020 SCASCD Emerging Leader.  I recently took ESOL graduate classes with USC Aiken, passed the PRAXIS and am certified as an ESOL teacher K-12.  This year I am excited to start a new job as an MLP teacher at Greer Middle School.  I will co-teach during ELA classes in grades 6, 7 & 8.  My husband, Jack, is an Instructional Coach at Chandler Creek.  We have two children (11 & 7) who keep us very busy with sports, dance, school and all the things!
