WELCOME TO...
This is my 5th year, working as a reading interventionist, here at Westcliffe Elementary School. My job is to work with small groups of students, giving them the extra instruction and practice to learn any reading skill they need! My goal is to help all students become great readers, who love reading for pleasure.
I am a highly qualified teacher, who grew up in England, where I received my education from K4- college. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics, from Glasgow University, and was licensed by the Royal College of Speech Therapists. After working for 2 years as a speech therapist, I married my husband and came to the United States, where I worked for 15 years as a school based speech therapist. In 2019, I earned my Masters degree in Applied Learning and Instruction, with a concentration in Literacy, from USC Upstate, and began working as a reading interventionist. After one year with the schools in Spartanburg 6, I came to Westcliffe Elementary.
I have been married to my husband for 40 years! We have two grown daughters. When I am not at school, I enjoy working in the yard, reading, playing the piano and singing, as well as traveling with my husband, especially to visit our girls, who live out of State!
Thank - you for allowing me the privilege of working with your precious children!
