The RMS Student Council is composed of students whose primary role is to promote school spirit and a positive school climate; organize and coordinate special school functions, activities and events to support our school as well as our community; and positively impact decisions affecting school issues. Student Council builds character and develops leadership, confidence and responsibility, organization and teamwork. There will be times when students will need to be at school before or after school. Meetings will be held monthly on the second Thursday morning from 7:45am-8:15am. Students will be responsible for coordinating transportation to those meetings. There may also be opportunities for students to attend leadership workshops on weekdays or weekends, although these will be optional. Student Council can be a time-consuming but very rewarding responsibility.
The 2016-2017 RMS Student Council will consist of 6 elected officers (7th and 8th graders) as well as 5 elected representatives from the Class of 2021 (8th Grade), 5 elected representatives from the Class of 2022 (7th Grade), and 5 elected representatives from the Class of 2023 (6th Grade).
