I am super excited to be in my 4th year as a Red Raider. I spent 7 years at Wade Hampton High School prior to coming to Greenville. I now feel at home as I have been a Red Raider through 2 of my children who graduated from Greenville. I am thrilled to be teaching US Government and Economics, as I have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Davidson College and a Masters of Education in Social Studies from the University of Georgia. I love teaching students about our democracy and their role in it. I was the daughter of an Army officer and as a result, I lived in 8 different states as well as Garmisch and Berlin, Germany and Moscow, Russia. My upbringing and travels give me a unique perspective on our government and the world.
We moved to Greenville in 1999 for my husband, Patrick, to join a Dental practice and now, 27 years later, we feel blessed to have raised our children in this amazing city with incredible schools. Wylie, Greenville Class of 2022, will be pursuing her masters degree in accounting this year; Michael, Greenville Class of 2020, is an insurance broker with Gallagher Insurance, Risk Management and Consulting; and Jack, Eastside Class of 2017, got married to Emma in May of 2025 and they live in Greenville where he is a lawyer in the Solicitors Office in Greenville and she is an accountant. All 4 of my children are graduates of Wofford College. My children's academic success is a testament to Greenville County Schools. While I am passionate about teaching and the success of my students, outside of school I also enjoy playing tennis, reading, and being with my family. I am an avid sports fan and love watching college football, baseball, golf and tennis.
I am hopeful that as I share and teach my students, we will all grow in how we see and impact our community and the world.
Go Raiders!
