WHAT is College and/or Career Readiness and WHY is it important?

Greenville County Schools was transformative in their creation of the “Graduation +/G+” Initiative!

G+ recognizes that jobs in today’s workforce require more than a high school education. GCS is committed to graduating students with a diploma, plus a technical certification and/or college credit. G+ is a district-wide initiative from pre-K through high school to ensure all students are career and college ready.

This initiative has been implemented by the state (CCR) and is an essential part of high schools accountability/rating.

At Riverside, our students often earned both college and career credentials before graduation! We heavily encourage CCR completion early in a student's high school experience!

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS!!!

Seniors who have not earned a College and Career Ready Credential will be required to meet with the counseling department this Fall.

Please be prepared to discuss the various options listed on this site.

Students who earned the CCR (G+) Credential will earn a SILVER CORD to be worn at graduation.
