Family
Hello 8th Grade Red Firebirds. This is my ninth year in education and my sixth year teaching at Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School. My wife and I chose to make the Greenville our home after spending several years along the South Carolina coast (Myrtle Beach, SC). I received a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University while working as a teaching assistant for Horry County Schools for 4 years. I also have worked as a teaching assistant and assistant football coach in North Carolina for Wake County Schools. After college, before becoming an educator, I followed my dream of working for a Division I collegiate athletic department. I also have a passion for educating young adults and being involved in athletics, especially football. I believe all team-related activities can be compared to education. Just as coaches and players must work together, as a team, to win the game or competition, students and teachers must collaborate to achieve the best education possible. A valuable lesson that I have learned is that this team of teachers and students are like family. There is a level of mutual respect that is met in order for a positive and safe educational environment to be established.
Along with football, comic book movies and science fiction movies are some of my favorite film entertainment. I thoroughly enjoy a good movie! I also enjoying spending time with family whether its swimming together or playing in the backyard with my two toddlers.
My childhood has influenced me on how to interactive with students, I have a philosophy of addressing students as "Yes, Sir", "No, Sir", "Yes, Ma'am", or "No Ma'am". In addressing the students in this manner, I hope to educate students the proper response when speaking to peers and adults alike.
As a GCS educator, I will give my students my full cooperation in order to assist them in achieving the best possible STEAM education that PJFMS has to offer.
