I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix. I have K-12 Literacy Teacher certification & Literacy Coach endorsement. My 20 years’ experience includes a variety of roles- kindergarten teacher, reading interventionist, and first grade teacher in both a virtual setting and in a full English immersion school in Shenyang, China. Both experiences were priceless! I currently serve as Literacy Specialist at Monarch.

I'm originally from Lexington, SC, but my husband and I now live in Simpsonville. We have two young-adult children and an adorable Shih-poo pup at home.
I love Chinese tea sets, black coffee, books that expand my horizons, and an occasional light-hearted game of tennis.
I'm also a HUGE Rocky movie fan. In fact, my childhood pup was named Rocky. Our current fur-baby is named Apollo, of course!
