Teacher at door
Dear Students and Parents,
I am very excited to be your child's journalism teacher at RGS! We are going to produce many great things this year: a daily newscast and a yearbook!
We have some great guest speakers headed our way as well- RaAmen Stallings, a professional photographer and visual artist will complete a one-week residency teaching students photography skills. This exciting unit is funded through the Metropolitan Arts Council and Smart Arts.
We will also have several former and current news personalities visiting to share their experiences working in news!
About Me:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina, and my Master’s in Education from Converse College. I have been teaching for twelve years. I have three children- 21, 18, and 15. My oldest two children are students at Clemson University and College of Charleston, respectively.
Office Hours:
My planning period is 11:40-12:12 each day. I am available easily by email and phone. Please have your student contact me if he needs any additional help or does not fully grasp a concept.
First Assignments:
Students will spend the first few days getting to know each other and the procedures of the course. We will begin by studying the history of journalism.
