My journey to be a teacher was lengthy and certainly not linear. I studied psychology at the University of Delaware, then completed a master's degree in school psychology at Adelphi University, in my native Long Island, New York. After working at a non-profit organization for disabled adults, I also earned my advanced certificate in applied behavior analysis. After a while, I was yearning for something different. By chance, a mentor lent me a biological psychology book which reignited my interest in biology. I chose to go back to school yet again and earned my master's degree in education from St. John's University in the borough of Queens, New York City.
After teaching for three years in New York City high schools, my wife and I, along with our 7 month old son, moved to the great state of South Carolina! In my spare time I enjoy reading mystery novels, being a coffee aficionado, and of course spending time with my family. I am excited for a great year at Southside High School!
