Hello, my name is Max Moore and I am so excited for my second year at FIHS! I am from Greenville and I now live in Simpsonville, SC. I enjoy traveling, learning languages, playing board games, and hiking.
I started learning German when I was 5 years old while I attended a Saturday school in Spartanburg. However, at that age... I wasn't the best German student. I went through school and eventually began taking Spanish in middle school and continued taking Spanish throughout high school. I went to Greenville Tech Charter High School and had the unique opportunity to take German and Spanish at the same time which I did starting my sophomore year of high school. I went on multiple exchange programs in Germany including an exchange program in Gießen, Hessen and a summer camp language program in Berlin, Germany.
I then studied at College of Charleston where I studied German, Spanish, foreign language education, and linguistics. Go Cougs! I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Trujillo, Spain and in Bamberg, Germany for a semester each. I was involved with the linguistics club and quiz bowl team in the past and hope to bring my experience to FIHS to help our student organizations.
I am so excited to continue at FIHS and I can't wait to get to meet my students and guide their language learning process.
