Welcome to Grove Elementary School and The Eagles' Nest. We are powerful, fearless, tenacious, high flyers, and nurtures our learners! Deep down inside and hopefully on the surface, each individual has gifts that make them great. Each Eagle has short-term goals, long-term aspirations, and will develop a plan of action to achieve these desires. Through education, BELIEF in themselves, adult support, tenacity, and the use of their talents, all can be ACHIEVED. We, The Grove Eagles, know our students have this great potential and can SOAR high above the clouds.

As the principaI of Grove Elementary School, located in Greenville (SC) County Schools, I pledge to continue the promotion of achievement in every field of Eagle endeavor, as students reach for the dreams beyond a high school graduation. As we strive to meet this expectation, let's continue to positively motivate them together!!!

Getting to Know Mr. Stowe

I am a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Philly). I grew up in North Philadelphia, where I attended St. Malachy's Catholic School for K5 - 8th grade. After seeking to attend public school at one of the most prestigious public high schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, my test scores afforded me the opportunity to attend Central High School.

As a member of the 253rd class of Central High School, I ran track, honed my art skills, and participated in many school organizations. As I approached graduation, I awaited my move to the hometown of my father. My mother, father, and I packed up and moved to Reidsville, North Carolina, and I started the next chapter of my life.

Upon arrival, I quickly enrolled in the local community college and began the process of ensuring I would be accepted to NC A&T State University for my sophomore year of college. NC A&T is also my father's alma mater, where he obtained his first teaching degree in the 1950's. I transferred to the college of my choice in the Fall of 1995 and kept my head steady, as I moved toward graduating on time in the major of my choice (Art Education). My goal was achieved in May 1998. My Master of Arts degree in Education Administration was obtained locally at Furman University.

My teaching career began in North Carolina, as I worked for three schools in my first year of delivering art instruction centered around art careers and the heavy integration of the ELA, math, writing, science, and social studies curriculum. The following year, I was recruited by one of my former college professors and began my next phase of the career in Greenville County Schools. I moved into the role of a school administrator after successfully inspiring children during my first seven years teaching the leaders of tomorrow. This year is my twentieth year in education, nineteenth year in Greenville County Schools, thirteenth year as an administrator, and my first year at Grove Elementary School. The journey has been great, and shall continue...

Again! My name is Mr. Joseph J. Stowe, Principal of the Eagles' Nest at Grove Elementary School within Greenville (SC) County Schools. The safety, academics, growth, and achievement of goals for our developing young people are at the top of my priority list!
