Hi, my name is Katie Saunders, and I am so excited to be teaching PMA again this year! This will be my fourteenth year teaching at Bethel and my tenth year teaching Primary Multiage. I have taught third grade and second grade as well, but PMA is my favorite. I love teaching in a multiage setting, and I am so excited to be working with Mrs. Wood again this year! We have so much fun teaching together!
A little bit of information about me...I am originally from Gainesville, GA, but I moved to South Carolina to attend college. I graduated from Furman University in 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2011, I received my Masters from Furman in Early Childhood. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, writing, trying out new recipes, and spending time with family and friends. An interesting fact about me....I was a majorette all four years at Furman! In fact, I started twirling batons when I was only four years old! This is a fun talent I enjoy sharing with my students each year! My husband of twelve years (Jon) and I have a son named Jon Parker who will be 8 at the end of August. We also have a sweet little girl named Liza Kate who will be five at the end of October. Time truly does fly by!
As I stated before, I am overjoyed to be working with Mrs. Wood to teach PMA this year! I truly believe that every child can succeed, and I am committed to helping each child reach their full potential. In our classroom, we will support each other, focus on the positives, and celebrate successes. I cannot wait to see all that we will learn this year...here’s to a great journey!
Hello! My name is Stephanie Wood. I am from Greenville, South Carolina. I received my Bachelor's degree from Furman University and my Masters' degree from Lesley University. This is my twenty-sixth year teaching at Bethel Elementary. My husband and I have four wonderful children, two son-in-laws, a daughter-in-law, and six grandchildren. I love spending time with my family!
I am so thrilled to be teaching with Mrs. Saunders. I teach math and STEM projects to both first and second graders. I also teach science and social studies to the second graders. I have taught both first and second grade before, but I love having the opportunity to teach in a Multiage classroom. It is a privilege to help develop a love for learning in children. Each child is unique, with special abilities and talents. My goal is to help them become life-long learners as they discover their talents and abilities. All students can learn and are most successful in a safe and nurturing environment, where the teacher, the students, and the parents work together. It's going to be an awesome year!
