Classroom Management

Our class is all about encouragement and positivity!  We are here to learn and grow not only academically but socially and emotionally as well.  Our class has a reward system that encourages kindness, respect, and staying on task.

I use a clip chart system in class to reward students for positive behavior and exhibiting leadership skills.  Each student starts the day on green which signifies that he or she is ready to learn.  They can either stay on green which means they are being an excellent leader or  move down to yellow (pause and think) and red (lose a privilege). 

I will communicate their behavior progress with you by marking each date on a monthly behavior sheet noting good behavior (smiley face) or a short note where students may need more support.  We celebrate students that have been great leaders by good classroom behavior each Friday which we call "Fun Friday."  The students get treats, watch a Magic School Bus,  and/or play games.  Students must have 4 smiley faces in their behavior chart to be able to participate in Fun Friday.
